Sunday- Day 1!

It was great to see the girls and their families today at check-in and orientation! The girls got to unload everything into their dorms, meet their wonderful dorm moms and dorm mates, and take a stroll on the Whittier College Campus over to Villalobos where we introduced our whole team of experienced Tech Trek staff members!

After dinner where the girls filled their plates with something green (the color of the day from Virginia!), we gathered in the campus center and took a group photo in our one-of-a-kind Tech Trek shirts! We then enjoyed an inspirational TED Talk by Regina Dugan that highlighted the phrase: “What would you do if you knew you could not fail?” This reinforced the importance of failing to reach success, making clear that failure is only an opportunity to grow through recognizing the challenge in front of you and learning from your past to make a positive difference in your future. Following this, we ventured back to the dorms where the girls got to laugh and bond with their dorm groups through ice breakers and a review of the camp guidelines for the fun week ahead of them! The girls are already excited to be learning new things and making new friends in this supportive and engaging environment– our group of girls this year is amazing and we are so thrilled to partake in this wonderful Tech Trek experience with them!

To see all of the hard work and dedication your girls have put in this week, make sure to watch their presentations during the closing ceremony on SATURDAY promptly at 10 am, which you will go to after checking them out at 9am that same day. So excited for the week ahead!
