Today was the last day of core classes for the girls! Forensics spent time studying blood splatter, getting a hands on experience using water balloons to represent blood on a victim at a crime scene. Engineering finished building their bridges and presented their 3-D models. Cyber security polished their websites and argumentative presentations, showing off their hard work to their classmates. Biotechnology created their own organisms and presented their organisms to the class. For Math Counts, they opened their business today, Blended Delights, and began serving smoothies to the other girls in exchange for tickets earned by exceptional leadership!
After an exciting day of core classes, the girls played fun games on the grass before starting to build their Rube Goldberg machines in Villalobos! They created innovative machines that taught them that multiple failures are necessary to have big successes. They happily sang the Tech Trek song before heading off to dinner. Returning the Villalobos, the girls participated in Professional Women’s Night. They heard from a physical therapist, coroner, zookeeper, bio-technician, media technician, and aerospace engineer.
The girls are having a great time and are loving every second of camp! They are excited for tomorrow’s field trip, and even more excited to present their work to you this Saturday! Make sure to pick up your camper at 9 am and watch their presentations at 10 am.
